Volunteer Information

The Prison Outreach Ministry is a Christian musical worship team focused on Prison Ministry. "I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." Matthew 25:36

We primarily travel to prisons under the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. These have included the following:

  • Marion Correctional Institution - Marion

  • Ohio Reformatory for Women - Marysville

  • Franklin Medical Center - Columbus

  • Southeastern Correctional Institution - Lancaster

  • Correctional Reception Center - Orient

  • Madison Correctional Institution - London

  • Belmont Correctional Institution - Belmont

  • Mansfield Correctional Institution - Mansfield

  • North Central Correctional Complex - Marion

Typical Events - The Rag Tag Worship Team leads usually 45 minutes to one hour of praise and worship, followed by a message of 20-40 minutes, and finishing with 15-20 minutes of prayer ministry time. This is where we welcome volunteers who feel called to prison ministry to lead people to Christ; and pray for healing, encouragement, and other numerous requests. There is also a short amount of time to visit with inmates. Intercessory prayer on behalf of the ministry is also essential.
